Caravans, campervans and RVs are full of small plastic fittings that break with use and vibration: cupboard catches, blind cassette end caps, curtain-track gliders, table-leg clips. Many were made by small suppliers that no longer exist.
A maker can remake most interior fittings. Exterior parts face sun and heat, so material choice matters.
Parts makers commonly remake
- Locker and cupboard catches, push-button lock covers
- Blind and fly-screen cassette end caps, cord guides
- Curtain-track gliders and tie-back clips
- Table-leg clips and storage brackets
- Vent covers and trims (not gas-drop vents)
- Step caps, awning-rail stoppers and corner trims
- Shower and washroom fittings that don't hold pressure

Don't have these remade
- Gas system parts: regulators, hoses, valves, gas-drop vents
- Mains hook-up and 12 V distribution parts
- Towing hitch, coupling, brake and suspension parts
- Bed and seat supports that hold people
- Smoke and gas alarm housings
- Window and door locking mechanisms needed for security
Buy certified originals for these and have them fitted by a qualified person. The safety page explains why.
Try these first
- Ask the manufacturer or a dealer with the model and year.
- Caravan and RV parts specialists stock many generic fittings.
- Check owners' clubs and forums for sources and files.
If nobody sells the part at a sensible price, a maker is the next step.
Good to know
In Great Britain, work on gas appliances must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer; other countries have similar licensing. Leave anything on the gas side to them.
What to put in your post
- Make, model and year of the caravan, camper or RV.
- Where the part is fitted and whether it gets sun.
- Photos of the catch or track it mates with.
- Photos from every side with a ruler in shot, and the measurements that matter. The measuring guide shows how.
Step by step: find the model number, measure the part and photograph it for a quote.
